2010 STORE HOURS

Our stores hours for you locals are as follows:
Monday : 11am-6pm
Tuesday : Closed
Wednesday: 11am-6pm
Thursday: 11am-6pm
Friday: 11am-6pm
Saturday: 11am-6pm
Sunday: 11am-4pm

Also keep a lookout for an article on our shop in The Morning Call (Allentown paper) this Sunday, written by Staff Writer Tyrone Richardson!

We are already thinking about our next window display, which will be installed when the night has "veiled the pole" the last week of January. Kutztown's passersby will awaken to a new color, a new treat for the eye, something that could possibly dispel deep winter drudgery.

Today we will open at 11 and close at 6PM.

On most Tuesdays we open at 2:30 but today is special so expect OPEN doors at 11:ooAM.

Also very exciting is the arrival of our Flensted Mobiles - Much better than a photo in a catalog & mobiles have special powers of relaxation

I'm not kidding - they shave away the stress.

Who on this planet could not use a bit of stress shaving.

So pack the crew in the FAMILY TRUCKSTER and head on over to the

MADE shop to marvel at our newest addition.

See you there.

EXCEPTIONLAB cups are interesting..

EXCEPTIONLAB cups styled directly after the "Greek" WE ARE HAPPY TO SERVE YOU paper variety have been a popular item in the MADE shop. We are happy to have them - anyone who has ever had a cup of coffee in Manhattan not from Starbucks has, most likely handled this paper icon of New York City. The ceramic version was licenced by Graham Hill the founder of TREEHUGGER ,which is the leading online sustainability based media outlet on the planet. We like kindness to our planet.

Have a great day - DAVE

The sign is up.

Here are a few shots of the SIGN designed by me - installed. kinda windy on installation day but myself and Lewis managed to get it done......

Hey who arranged my paper cut outs? Was that you Shawn Ireland?

Merry Christmas, almost!

Sunny today - very beautiful but hardly any customers..... At least I have time to BLOG.

Flensted Mobile's coming soon!

I must say shop keeping is still fun!

People are excited to see what we have done with the EX computer wizards store front. We are merchants and are paving the "design highway" here in Kutztown - introducing great design both inexpensive and not, to the design starved population. Most of what we are selling is VERY new to the local peoples. I know that Christian Flensted made his first mobile in 1954 thats 55 years old to you and me - BUT - have they been in Kutztown? I would venture to guess NO! So very soon you can come and see them here.

Bye until next time - DAVE

CABIN FEVER

We are open on Sundays, a day I believe is when the word cabin fever was invented. It is a day when I need to SLAM the door behind me and wander for a while. I sit in our shop and wait for fellow wanderers........and they come. It is raining but their faces tell me "I know the weather is foul but I needed to get out and find something alive!" I am here, I am alive, I have a little Yann Tiersen vibrating the walls and they begin to feel a little like they have left Kansas. They are transported to the world of fellow studio artists like Ayala Naphtali, Terri Logan, David Weeks, Sam Buxton, Shawn Ireland, Bandana Pottery, and the secret underground world of Evereman (I know his/her identity but "I'll never tell") and the above, sort of below ground of Kidrobot. I regale them with stories and probably give them a little more than their Sunday stroll bargained for. They leave nonetheless with a MADE shop bag in hand and go home glad they threw on their coat and left the world of mundane behind them!
Happy Sundays.........hope to see you.

A busy Saturday and no Snow - yehah!

SAM BUXTON BELOW

Today all new faces and lots OH KIDROBOT. Plus Sam Buxton - AKA Mikro Man has people captivated. We are still getting used to the "shopkeep" thing but are surprised with the compliments and excitement of the MADE shop.

I was GREEN today - Meaning dressed in all green - yet another unexpected plus (I get to dress up).

Bye for now - DAVE

THE GRAND OPENING WAS A HIT!

We got through our "grand Opening" without a hitch - people are still fascinated to see what we have come up with. The Mayor, Sandy Green came for a ribbon cutting and our local paper in Kutztown "The Patriot" sent a roving reporter Phil to catch all the action - all you locals look for the article this week or next.

The window sculpture has been snagging people with its coolness and many customers really dig the "DAVID WEEKS" wooden gorillas and bears

We will keep on truckin.........
